Memory Care

The Memory Care Unit provides additional personal care with the patience and love needed for residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory problems. The Beechwood Court Memory Care Unit is supervised 24 hours a day in a specially designed wing featuring secure entrances and exits. The Unit provides common areas, hallways, and rooms that are uncluttered and easy to navigate, increasing the ease of resident use for familiarity.

While providing assistance with activities of daily living, the highly trained, friendly staff at Beechwood Court are specially trained to care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s and impaired cognition.

The wandering behavior that happens with Alzheimer’s and dementia is minimized in the secure wing with 24-hour supervision, familiar areas, and key-coded ingress and egress. Beechwood Court makes every effort to keep residents in an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness while keeping them free of harm.

FUNCTIONAL PATHWAYS THERAPY

The goal of LaFayette Manor, Inc. is to provide a treatment plan that will result in an increased level of independence for our residents.   

That’s why we are proud to provide therapy services through Functional Pathways Therapy. Our seven-day-a-week rehabilitation staff consists of a full-time physical therapist, occupational therapist, and speech-language pathologist.  

In addition, a certified occupational therapy assistant and two physical therapy assistants are also on staff.  Our well-rounded therapy team provides the consistent care and treatment needed to optimize resident independence and maximize daily life skills.

DIETARY DEPARTMENT

The LaFayette Manor, Inc. Dietary Department provides well-balanced meals to all the LaFayette Manor, Inc. clients, family members, and staff.  

We offer a 4-week cycle menu with a customized breakfast plan and two alternate meals for lunch and dinner. The Dietary Department provides therapeutic diets to optimize the client’s rehabilitation potential.  

A few of our diets include diabetic, renal, cardiac, celiac, weight loss, weight gain, and dysphasia diets. We provide diet education as well as scheduled follow-up care with home health for a successful discharge plan.

The Dietary Department provides special meals several times during the year. We provide sit-down dinners with family members as well as buffets.  We order dinners from local restaurants of the resident’s choice, as well as, have breakfast made to order.  

Our residents take an active role in daily and special event menu planning.

ACTIVITIES PROGRAM

LaFayette Manor, Inc.’s activities program is a well-rounded one, complete with the director and department-specialized staff.  

We provide individual and group activities designed to appeal to our residents’ interests and to enhance our resident’s highest practical level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

• Weekly personalized shopping services available in our 15 passenger bus

• Religious oriented programs for all faiths

• Cable access is available in all rooms

• Encourage close relationship with families and offer special events and family support activities

ADMISSIONS

LaFayette Manor, Inc. offers 24-hour skilled nursing care for our residents requiring either short or long-term care. We admit residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  

Most insurances are accepted and all beds are Medicare and Medicaid approved.
